Synopsis
In the 20th century, Clark Kent is taken by the Legion founders. In the 31st century, the Legionnaires are preparing for Foundation Day celebrating the founding of the Legion. After Kid Quantum addresses the crowd, which includes the first class of the Legion Cadet Program, Cosmic Boy joins other Legionnaires on Braal dealing with a decaying stargate. There, Apparition discovers her mother, President Wazzo, has recovered Superboy. When Cosmic Boy returns to Legion World, he and Saturn Girl come face to face with Element Lad. Meanwhile, Clark Kent discovers that he has been taken to Apokolips.

Synopsis
Though worshippers sacrifice themselves for Darkseid, he fails to stir, so his servants declare that the New God needs more sacrifices. Elsewhere, the Legion investigates another stargate and encounter three dark figures who flee in a Boom Tube. Back on Legion World, Livewire deals with his new situation, the leaders assess the encounter at the stargate, and Ferro helps Superboy get a new outfit. Meanwhile, Invisible Kid and Brainiac 5 visit the Time Institute to determine the point in time from which Superboy came, but are interrupted by two more dark figures arriving through a Boom Tube.

Though by the end of the storyline the identities of Clark Kent, Firestorm, Lobo, Orion, and Big Barda are confirmed, it is never made clear just who the Green Lantern, the Thanagarian, or the other heroes the servants of Darkseid collect are.

Synopsis
Brainiac 5 and Invisible Kid are unable to stop the invaders at the Time Institute, so Invisible Kid follows them out through their Boom Tube, while Brainiac 5 stays behind to deal with the bomb they left. After the Legion cleans up at the Time Institute, Brainiac 5 determines that the universe is shrinking. Invisible Kid explains this phenomenon, when he determines that the dark figures are sucking the dark matter out of the universe. The Legion rushes to help Invisible Kid and learns that the dark matter being gathered by thousands of stargates is being shunted into a giant Boom Tube.

Synopsis
Clark Kent shakes off the brainwashing of the servants of Darkseid and with the help of his Mother Box heads for Smallville, but with Orion in pursuit. The Legion arrives and protects Clark, driving Orion away. Using Clark's Mother Box, the Legionnaires head to Apokolips just as enough Catastrophists sacrifice themselves to re-animate the statue-like Darkseid and create a Boom Tube from which a second Darkseid arrives.

Synopsis
Darkseid tells his younger self that he has brought him from the distant past to combine his experienced mind with his young body. Though the universe is collapsing across time due to this manipulation, Darkseid explains that he has had his servants gather dark matter to deflect the wave of collapsing time. But the younger Darkseid calls the Legion to his side against his older rival. During the fight, other Legionnaires plan to go back in time before the event which caused the collapse of time. But before they can, the younger Darkseid grabs Orion and turns his son's power on his older self.

Synopsis
After a brief fight, the four latecomer Legionnaires realize that the defeated Darkseid had not successfully prepared for collapsing time, so they travel back in time to the moment right after the Darkseid from the past arrived in the future through a Boom Tube. As the quartet drives the Darkseid from the past back to his own era, the remaining Legionnaires fight the present-day Darkseid. Weakening, the contemporary Darkseid has to take back power from his servants, who are returned to their former lives, until a confrontation with Clark Kent ends with Darkseid down and Clark back to normal.
