When she shows signs of being attracted to Archie because of his connection to the "gorgeously rich" Lodges, Archie passes her off to a man with more money, Reggie Mantle. After a night of doing the things that Cricket considers fun (like listening to a record of slot machines in Las Vegas), Reggie has to find a way to get rid of her, so he gives some money to Jughead, causing Cricket to follow him instead.
