The first story drawn for this title by Chic Stone, who had previously been working as Harry Lucey's inker. He took over the penciling when Lucey retired. Fans generally did not consider his work up to Lucey's standard, and he was replaced after a year by Dan DeCarlo's son Dan Jr.
