Nan loves test pilot Tony but her jealousy drives them apart. She dates widower Lionel, a “refugee scientist” airplane designer. When Tony is injured in a crash, Nan admits to Lionel that she loves Tony and was only using him to make Tony jealous. Lionel commits suicide and Tony breaks up with Nan as a result.
Photographer Judy meets the mysterious Neal in a Western ghost town. Her car gets stuck and they spend the night there; he kisses her. The next day, before she leaves, she takes a photo but when it’s developed Neal does not appear. “Months later” Neal shows up and admits he pretended to be a ghost to scare people away so he could write in peace. However, he fell in love with Nan and tracked her down.
Art student Gail is attracted to male model David but rejects his friendly overtures because she believes “an artist must marry his art, and never never share his love with anything or anyone.” David, himself a talented artist, says “love is art . . . and ours will be a masterpiece!” and they kiss.

Synopsis
When her college boyfriend Richard says he loves her, Laura reacts badly. Richard says “You’re sick, Laura!” At age 15, Laura fell in love with her father’s 16-year-old farmhand Tom. Laura and her family moved away and she lost touch with Tom. Now, whenever a boy tries to kiss her, she remembers him. Laura decides to see a psychiatrist but first revisits her family farm. Tom now owns it and they are reunited.
