Synopsis
While Champ is scheduled for shoeing, the boys go exploring, stumble across a cave, an old abandoned Spanish gold mine. They take some gold out, are accosted by western thugs. Rebel-dog races home, fetches Champion from the corral. The grown-ups soon follow. Yay!

Synopsis
Smoky and nephew Ricky take Champion to the benefit Rodeo where Champion is billed "Extra Added Attraction Champion the Wonder Horse." A second-story burglar, The Phantom Thief," has been plaguing the event. Our protagonists stay at the Barstow Ranch. Ricky hears a prowler, fetches Champ. The thief flees on horseback with Ricky hostage. Champ rescues him. The thief escapes, but is detected by Champ at the Rodeo.
