- Synopsis
- Vina Russell’s social life is adversely affected when many young men are drafted into the armed forces. She dates Bill Evans, whose factory work makes him exempt, but becomes jealous when he spends so much time at work with Sue Leeds. Vina breaks off their engagement, only to discover Bill was training Sue to take over his job so he could enlist in the Army, and intended to marry Vina before he left. After Bill departs, Vina takes a job at the factory to turn her self-centered life around. When Bill comes home on leave, they reconcile.

- Synopsis
- Gwen is considered a snob by her high school friends because she never participates in social events with them. They don’t know her widowed mother works to support the family and Gwen has to care for her brother and sister. New student Roger and Gwen are attracted to each other, but she makes excuses not to see him and he gets the wrong idea. However, after Gwen’s little sister is injured in an accident, Roger learns the truth and says he understands Gwen’s family responsibilities come first. He promises to accommodate her schedule and remain her boyfriend.

- Synopsis
- Nurse Kit meets Chris on vacation and they fall in love. He says he was formerly engaged to Leslie but it’s all over now. They wed and return to his home. Kit is constantly reminded of how lively Leslie was, and tries to emulate her in order to keep her new husband. This has the wrong effect, but in the end Kit realizes she must be herself and Chris loves her for it.
