Marsha pulls crazy stunts to win the approval of her wild gang of peers, to the disgust of steady pharmacist Tom. She goes along on a trip to a mountain cabin, and has to flee the lecherous advances of her escort Chuck. She calls Tom for aid, but they’re stopped by the police on the drive home. Marsha’s a minor and Chuck is nearly arrested. Marsha confesses all to the authorities and her father and vows to cultivate a better group of friends. She also starts dating Tom.
June is ashamed of her excess weight and decides to diet so she can date handsome Fred. She loses weight and Fred seems interested, then changes his mind. June temporarily breaks her diet but decides to continue, for her own sake. Fred returns and apologizes, and says he really cares for her. June gets down to a size 12 and marries Fred.

Polly is “a one-date girl” because she refuses to allow herself to be kissed. She finally meets a boy she likes, Paul, but he takes her to a frat house “necking party” and she flees. Polly asks relationship advisor Mark Ford if she can trust Paul, or any boy. He says he’s sure Love Journal readers will “answer your call for aid!”
Husky Joe dates secretary Linda but she prefers shy, sensitive Greg. She wants to protect and comfort him, but Joe warns her that Greg—whom he knew in the Army—is “a professional sad sack!” Linda loans Greg money and gets him a job in her company, but he’s fired for spending his expense money on himself, claiming he was sick. Linda quits her job in sympathy, then learns Greg is pulling the same scam on a woman in Chicago. She sends him packing and reconciles with Joe.
