- Synopsis
- A young single woman visits a girl friend who has recently had a baby and sees how drastically her friend's life has changed.
This story is plagiarized from a 1-pager by French comics artist Claire Bretécher. Bretécher's piece appears, translated into English, as 'Susie Homemaker' in National Lampoon Presents Claire Bretecher (National Lampoon, 1978) and as 'A Woman's Work' in Frustration (Methuen, 1982). In Cain's version, the baby is actually thrown into the waste-bin at the end; in the original, the baby is held suspended over the open bin as the mother considers dropping it.
