Jane, rejected by her high society boyfriend Billie, vows to punish men for her humiliation. She specialises in exploiting servicemen. Her latest victim is soldier Ted, who inherits a farm. Jane agrees to marry him, but she’s exposed as the “camp chiseler” by another soldier. Ted defends Jane and she admits she really loves him.
Poor orphan Sally grows up starved for affection. She falls for shifty character Ace. When Ace is arrested for robbery, Sally tries to help him escape but winds up in prison herself. She realises her blind craving for love caused her to make a poor decision.
Ellen flirts with her much older boss Mr. Swan and accepts expensive gifts from him. Although she loves sailor Dave, Ellen wants a rich husband. Mr. Swan turns out to be already married and just looking for a mistress; in a struggle, Ellen thinks she’s killed him. Swan survives and Dave hopes Ellen has learned her lesson.
