An epidemic of hoof-and-mouth disease strikes their cattle, and Johnny is one of the American doctors sent to help. He and Conchita realize her aunt intercepted their letters to keep them apart. After a thrashing, Manuel confesses he poisoned the cattle. Conchita marries Johnny.

He and Laurie reconcile, and she steps aside so Guy can take her spot. Guy wins the election and marries Laurie.
