Synopsis
The police find Jean DeWolff has been gunned down in her apartment. Spidey apprehends a gang of thugs that have mugged one of Aunt May's boarders. He learns of the death of DeWolff and joins up with the head of the investigation, Sgt. Stan Carter. Matt Murdock gets Mr. Popchik's muggers out on bail and senses that Peter Parker is Spider-Man when Pete berates him in the courtroom. Back in chambers, Matt is unable to save the judge from being shot and killed by the mysterious Sin-Eater.

Synopsis
Matt Murdock is unable to prevent Sin-Eater from shooting down a judge in cold blood and escaping. Out on the street, Spidey battles the Sin-Eater and learns that he is the killer of Jean De-Wolff. Fearing for Aunt May's safety, he has to let the villain go. Spidey investigates Jean's apartment looking for clues and finds that she collected pictures of him. Peter and friends attend Jean's funeral while Matt is mourning at the funeral of his friend, the judge. Sin-Eater kills a priest from the confessional booth.

Synopsis
Spidey and DD scour the city looking for the Sin-Eater. The villain shows up at the Bugle looking to kill Jameson and Peter takes him out easily. The captured Sin-Eater turns out to be a copy-cat criminal and, when Spidey and DD investigate his apartment, discover that he lives next door to Sgt. Carter, the real Sin-Eater. Realizing that Jameson is a legitimate target, Spidey calls his house and Betty answers in a panic as Sin-Eater has a gun in her face.

Synopsis
Spidey swings in and saves Betty from the Sin-Eater. He ends up battling DD who tries to stop the web slinger from beating Carter to death. With the killer of Jean DeWolff turning out to be a cop himself, all of New York is in an uproar and Spidey ends up rescuing Carter from an angry mob during his prison transfer. DD tells Spidey his secret identity. Aunt May calls and tells Peter that Ernie is in jail for shooting muggers on the subway.
