Synopsis
A detailed history of the Star-Lord character, from his inception in the black-and-white magazine Marvel Preview #4, by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan, in 1976, to the current reprint from Marvel Preview #11 (with new framing sequence). Grant puts Star-Lord in context as a science fiction character predating the first Star Wars film. The first Claremont-Byrne collaboration is mistakenly identified in the article as Marvel Preview #14 instead of #11.

Indexer Notes

The article is printed in the inside front and back covers, with three color illustrations, possibly by Tom Sutton, based on Star-Lord's appearance in Marvel Premiere #61, August 1981.
