Defenders gather outside Base, after escaping the explosion. Valkyrie is killed. Hellcat and Gargoyle decide to hold a memorial. Many of their friends join them in a field. While their friends prepare their seance, Valkyrie's spirit visits Hellcat. In Asgard, Karnilla torments The Enchantress until she gives up the location of the Rose of Purity. When the mourners arrive at the apartment, Dr. Strange begins his effort to contact Valkyrie. The Defenders make contact with Valkyrie. As they plan a rescue, Enchantress arrives and tears Valkyrie's soul into the enchanted blade of Dragon Fang.
