Synopsis
Arak rescues a captured pagan priestess from being burned alive, which upsets a Byzantine crowd that was expecting entertainment. With the Byzantines now turned against him, Arak watches as the priestess brings several holy effigies to life to attack the crowd. When Arak intervenes to save the life of General Cometas, the priestess relents and they all ride off on animated gold horses.

Synopsis
Returning the Frankish king's court, Valda and Malagigi rest in a glade and recall how Valda came to be Baledor's prisoner before meeting Arak. It began when she was training with the other knights and a familiar rider named Creston approached. With his last dying breaths, Creston declared he had been killed by the arch-angel Michael.
