Alpha Flight travels to the realm of the Great Beasts in order to recover Walter Langkowski's soul. They succeed in defeating Somon and his cohorts but, when they return to Earth with Walter's essence, they find his physical body has crumbled. The soul of Walter is placed into the Box robot. With the Great Beasts vanquished, Snowbird lets Alpha Flight believe that she has left the realm of Earth when she has really decided to settle down with her love, Doug Thompson.
