In late 1989 Marvel adjusted their cover dates so that they were only two months ahead of schedule instead of four, hence the "Mid November" cover date. A full month passed between the publication of this issue and the two issues surrounding it.

Synopsis
Cannonball, Rictor, Sunspot, and Wolfsbane are captured. Hela blackmails Eitri into making a sword to kill Odin, who is sleeping the Odin Sleep. Boom Boom, Warlock, and the Wolf Prince get help from Volstagg's children, and are captured by Frost Giants.
