Superman [Clark Kent]; Lois Lane; Burton Hayes; Keith Langwell
Lois and Clark encounter a man cursed with bad luck, owing, he claims, to the talisman he wears round his neck. Lois takes possession and flaunts the bad luck spirits by wearing it. Thanks to Clark and Superman (in both guises) she survives several attempts on her life. Superman then takes the talisman and foils more death attempts. Finally, Clark appears in the newsroom wearing it, claiming that Superman gave it to him as a gift. Clark gives Lois the full credit for the story and, in a rare display of affection, she kisses him on the cheek.
Zatara overhears three young boys on the street talking about their aspirations for life. One wants to be a hunter, another an explorer, but the third a crime-king. Zatara projects the boys fifteen years into their future, and shows them the possible outcome of their wishes. Jack, the would-be crime king, changes his mind and decides he might become a doctor or a teacher instead
