Sad Sack returns from the war to find places closed, sold out, and no place to sleep. Instead he makes due with the welcome sign as a street blanket.

Indexer Notes

First appearance of The Sad Sack in standard comic book format. Sad Sack cartoons were previously printed in The Sad Sack (Simon and Schuster, 1944 series), The New Sad Sack (Simon and Schuster, 1946 series) hardcovers, and in The Sad Sack (Armed Forces Edition, 1945) oblong paperback.

The cartoons include an editorial called "Operation Snafu," reminding readers to continue supporting the needs of military personnel even though the war had ended.
