Synopsis
Jimmy Gray rescues Betty Archdale on the streets of Cairo. After another attempt on her life he "sends" The Shadow to investigate the Asp who killed her father. The Shadow hides in the sarcophagus of King Tut Ahkram III only to be taken by barge down the Nile. With Betty kidnapped The Shadow is forced to reveal where he hid the King's jewels. Both end up in the river with the crocodiles.

The art and altered panels in this story lead the indexer to believe that this story may have originally appeared in Frew's landscape formatted first series of The Shadow. This is also one of the rare stories in the series with a formal title.
