Synopsis
Despite dangers on the way, and despite Thompson and Thomsen accidentally stowing away, the rocket lands safely on the moon, and the party conducts explorations. They plan to make their return launch early as oxygen is running low, but discover that Wolff is a traitor in league with Colonel Jorgen, who has also stowed away. Jorgen is killed in a struggle. On the homeward journey Wolff sacrifices himself in expiation so as to save on weight and air. The crew loses consciousness in extremis, but the ship lands safely.
