- The Guardians assemble all 3600 Green Lanterns on Oa to fight an attack by Krona. Krona's attack kills many.
- Reprints
One dead Green Lantern looks exactly like Ch'p, who has not yet been introduced to any Green Lantern stories. Perhaps it was Ch'p's predecessor in the same space sector. Narrative provides flashback to Hal Jordan's beginning as a Green Lantern, several previous battles of the Guardians and others with Krona, and the Guardians' creation of the Manhunters.

- The Green Lanterns discover that Krona has teamed with Nekron to widen the rift between the known universe and the realm of the unliving, which would destroy the universe. Each Green Lantern or Guardian who dies increases Nekron's power, who increases Krona's power.

- The Green Lantern Corps recovers from its previous defeat and Hal Jordan enters the realm of the dead, where he convinces the spirits of dead Green Lanterns to help distract Nekron while the Guardians close the rift between the realm and the universe.
