Synopsis
Codename: Assassin and his army of creatures fight Nightwing, Flamebird, Nadira Va-Dim, and Az-Rel. The latter two flee, and Nightwing also escapes, but Flamebird is captured. Codename: Assassin digs into her mind, but that releases the power of the ancient Flamebird from her. Nightwing catches up with Nadira and Az-Rel; they fight, but the fight endangers civilians, so Nightwing stops to help them as the others flee. Flamebird catches up, saving the remaining people. Lois visits her father's grave, as Mon-El stops by at Lois' request. They analyze the body, discovering it is not Sam Lane's body. Codename: Assassin reports in to General Lane on what happened; Mirabi disappears, reappearing a while later with Nadira and Az-Rel captured.

Synopsis
Captain Atom finds himself on a mission to destroy an enemy base that is a danger to the government. He attacks a castle, defended by an army of medieval warriors, but with ogres and warriors on strange beasts. His is easily winning the battle, but suddenly flashes back to a meeting of the Justice League, and then collapses.
