Synopsis
German First World War air ace, Baron Maximilien von Klorr ('Black Max'), had trained giant bats to attack and destroy British planes along the Western Front but had not been seen for a number of weeks. In a sudden re-appearance during heavy fog, the giant bats capture new recruit, Johnny Crane, who's brought back to Black Max's castle. Crane's mind is reconditioned to do Black Max's bidding and is then sent back to British lines to kill Lieutenant Tim Wilson, the senior pilot of the Royal Flying Corps' Twelfth Squadron.
