Synopsis
Professor Lansing obtains financing for a trip to uncover the wealth he read about in some manuscripts he discovered. Journeying to Greece, he finds a cave guarded by a man with snakes for hair. This man welcomes him to "Medusa-Land" and introduces him to their queen, a direct descendant of Medusa. Lansing asks her how they protect their wealth from the outside world, but Medusa insists that he stop talking and kiss her. Later that night, Lansing fills up a bag with jewels, only to be caught by Medusa. The next day Athene visits Medusa and remarks at the new snake in her hair.
Fed up with working in an alligator farm, Jack Spence and Bart Tedlow decide to rob a bank. During the robbery the alarm is tripped and Tedlow hurts his ankle while fleeing. Spence escapes and with no mention of his partner in the papers decided to get out of town. Tedlow appears at the tracks and tells him the money is buried in the alligator farm. Spence begins digging but is suddenly attacked from behind by an alligator and killed. Two men come upon the scene and one remarks that this is exactly where they found Bart Tedlow's body last night.
The Romanian town of Marud is overrun by giant tarantulas, and people are leaving in droves. Two villagers implore Josiah Creech to leave, but he says that he is not afraid and will not leave his home and possessions. Looters decide to steal Josiah's fortune and break into his home. They shoot Josiah, but he remains alive and becomes a giant tarantula, remarking that the looters have come just in time for supper, since neither he nor his children have eaten... yet.
Pierre Brazo, a lion tamer with the circus is greeted by his wife after his performance. Brazo hates her because he thought she was wealthy when they married. Frustrated by Pierre, who openly displays his loathing, his wife decides he must die. Before Pierre's show the next day his wife asks if he's really taught Suba the lion to hate her. He responds in the affirmative. During the performance as Pierre does his greatest feat, putting his head inside Suba's mouth, the lion begins to kill Pierre. His skull-cap falls to the ground; a picture of his wife is sewn onto the back.
