Issue Notes

This volume continues the transition of the art from Hal Foster, due to health reason, to his eventual successor John Cullen Murphy. The following Sundays # 1774, 1775, 1777- 1787 do not have Hal Foster signature. As well this volume contains the last full art, #1788, that Hal Foster was to do. After #1788 Foster continued to write and to do layouts giving the art chores to John Cullen Murphy (See page 69 of The Definitive Prince Valiant Companion, Fantagraphics Books, 2009).
