Synopsis
Anthro and his father go out to perform the ritual of the false hunt to ensure that they find prey for their solstice celebration dinner, leaving Lart behind to protect the women. While they encounter a tribe reputed to be cannibals, frightening them off with snow warriors, Lart finds a bear, but needs his father's and brother's help to put it down and earn his solstice gift.

Synopsis
A rabbi and his son are ambushed on the first night of Chanukah by the Turner Twins, but the boy survives and makes it to town. Jonah Hex is enlisted to go after the twins, who remain at the rabbi's campsite for a week, confident that the boy is still alive and in the area, relighting the campfire every night. After Jonah metes out his type of justice, the boy recovers his gold, buries his father, and says a prayer.

John Stewart is called by a rookie Green Lantern to a situation on Hathor which reminds him of the time he witnessed the ritual physical abuse of the Shi'a holiday Ashura, which seemed to him bizarre, until his sergeant major related a story about Christians in the Philippines who re-enact the scourging and crucifixion of Jesus. The rookie learns that the Hathorians are performing a similar ritual, one that reminds them of the violence they have sworn to leave behind.

Synopsis
Crispus Allen visits an orphanage in Tehran, Iran on the eve of the Vernal Equinox, the day celebrated as the Persian New Year, or Norouz. When he witnesses the man who tends the orphanage being beaten and robbed, he persuades the Spectre to intervene even though there is no lost human life to take vengeance for, the ghost perhaps having been moved by the spirit of the holiday.
