Synopsis
Professor Whitley has invented a destructive device and is kidnapped by the notorious Bender gang for the secret of its power. The Fantom saves the professor and his daughter from death and pursues the gang to their hideout, where he destroys the device in the interest of humanity.

Indexer Notes

In 1940, the Fantom strip was written by George Kapitan as well as Paul Gustavson and Frank Thomas. No extant evidence exists that is known as to who wrote this particular story.

Same applies to the artist of the story. Besides Gustavson, other known artists include Al Anders and Will Roland.
