Synopsis
Amos returns to his family farm from the city with Lola, a sexy carnival dancer. His brother Ethan frowns upon her “heathen” presence, but Amos says he intends to convince her to marry him. Ethan loses control one night and kisses Lola, then pushes her away. When Lola tells him that Amos is going to propose, Ethan admits he loves her. Ethan allows the jealous Amos to beat him severely; the next day, Ethan leaves for the city and Lola joins him.

Synopsis

Ruth convinces David to begin composing again, and uses her savings to finance the debut of his symphony. He’s still in love with Helen, who returns once he’s a success. Later, Helen says David has lost his ambition since Ruth’s been gone. Ruth refuses to help, and when David overhears Helen and proposes to Ruth, she turns him down as well. Her crush is over because he’s “weak.” Ruth is now “free...free!”
