Edición española del tomo americano Superman: The Action Comics Archives (DC, 1997 series) #1.

Contiene las historias de Superman publicadas en Action Comics (DC, 1938 series) #1, 7-20. Al igual que en la edición americana se han omitido las historias de los #2-6 al estar ya editadas en el Superman Archives (DC, 1989 series) #1.

En la primera solapa de las sobrecubiertas incluye un extracto de la introducción de Mark Waid del volumen y en la segunda el listado de los títulos que componen la colección.

La reconstrucción del color de las historias es a cargo de Bob Le Rose y la reconstrucción en blanco y negro obra de Eddie Ortiz.

Planeta DeAgostini continuará la publicación en la colección Los Archivos de Superman en Action Comics (Planeta DeAgostini, 2006 series).

Synopsis
Superman delivers a witness to the governor to stop an execution, then stops a wife-beater. Later Superman, as Clark Kent, goes out with Lois, but she earns the wrath of Butch Matson and Superman must save her. Finally, Clark is assigned a story on the South American republic of San Monte. He heads to Washington DC to find out who is behind Senator Barrows pushing legislation which will embroil the United States in a war in Europe by grabbing lobbyist Alex Greer and scaring the truth out of him.

A purple plaque sweeps Metropolis killing citizens left and right. Only Dr. Travers has discovered antidote, and Superman must stop the Ultra-Humanite from killing the good doctor and prevent that cure from being used.
