During the play, a dog spies Mrs. Grundy's hat and jumps into the audience. Chaos ensues and the Mayor falls into the "river" on stage.

Bad things happen to the man and when Archie's jalopy is hit by a train, they end up walking 17 miles to Riverdale. When Archie goes to school the next day, he finds out that the man is the new principal.
