Rom returns to Clairton from his stint in Limbo where he is warmly welcomed by his friends. Although happy to be home, Rom broods over the image he was shown by the Wraiths in Limbo of his home planet of Galador in total ruins. The Wraiths send two agents disguised as Starshine and Terminator to further goad him with dire news of his homeworld. Rom desires to return to Galador to find out if these Wraith rumors are true but refuses to leave Brandy and company unprotected in his absence.
Terminator is put on trial for rashly killing the ruler of a world where the Spaceknights were ferreting out Dire Wraiths. Terminator chooses death rather than banishment and his sentence is carried out. Little do the Spaceknights know that as Terminator is being consumed by the Glowing Globe of Power, he is teleported away at the last instant by the evil Mentus. Disheartened by the destruction of his friend, Rom decides to leave Galador and the Spaceknights to battle Wraiths on his own.
