Pheonix returns to Earth and visits the home of Jean's parents where the X-Men catch up with her. After Xavier wages a pitched battle with Dark Phoenix on the psychic plane, the alien entity is contained and Jean is restored. The joy is cut short, however, as Lilandra and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard show up and proclaim that Jean and the Phoenix must be destroyed.

Indexer Notes

For this kid friendly version of a classic X-Men tale, the D'Bari star system is proclaimed lifeless when Phoenix destroys it whereas in the original story, millions of aliens were killed.
