Synopsis

Following the destruction of Asteroid M, the X-Men track down and battle Fabian Cortez. During the fight, Cortez unleashes a power in Jean thet looks a little like the Phoenix. Nick Fury tells the X-Men that they should officially join him to allay the fears of a world that fears and hates them. Wolvie leaves in a huff and later, Jean is contacting him psychically when something terrible happens to Logan.

Synopsis

Jean's power surge when she breaks her psychic connection with Logan knocks all of the X-Men out and blacks out X-Mansion. Nick Fury learns from Gabe that SHIELD has found Wolvie's adamantium skeleton in a crater in Central Park but it is missing a claw. As Storm goes to restore power to the mansion, she is attacked by Sabretooth who keeps referring to Wolvie as "the boy." During the fight with the X-Men, Sabretooth is blinded.

Synopsis

Xavier enters Jean's mind and learns that it was Storm who flash fried Wolverine. As the X-Men turn on their supposed friend and ally, Storm traps them in the Danger Room and takes off. Only Kitty is able to follow and she pops Wolverine's missing claw out of her wrist and pokes Storm in the eye.

Synopsis

Kitty releases the rest of the X-Men from the Danger Room and even Sabretooth helps his old enemies track Storm into the Morlock tunnels. Beast comes up with a plausible explanation as to why Kitty is now sporting one of Wolverine's claws. While most of the X-Men battle Storm, Gambit has a little reunion with an old friend on the Brooklyn Bridge--a young girl named Ororo.

Synopsis

The X-Men save Storm from being killed by the Consortium but she blinds them with lightning and escapes. Cyke and his team discover one of the Consortiums' lairs but SHIELD moves in and kicks them out. Gambit and Rogue bring 'Ro back to the mansion and Beast tries to figure out why there are two Storms running around. Fury is told that Cortez' prison transport has disappeared and the villain is covertly delivered to the Consortium. Xavier reveals to his students the terrible secret that their mutant powers will cause them to live shorter lives. The X-Men have a funeral for Wolverine.
