Synopsis
Masque has disfigured a subway car full of humans and posted a movie on the internet warning humans that the few remaining mutants left are weapons aimed directly at them. Storm uses the FF's resources to track the Morlocks. Sentinel Squad O*N*E soldiers reach the Morlocks first and are brutally murdered. The X-Men arrive after the carnage is complete and find Skids still alive buried under some rubble. When the X-Men are attacked by a Sentinel, Skids tells it to stand down and reveals that she is an undercover agent of SHIELD.
Warpath and Hepzibah track down Masque and his crew in the Morlock tunnels but the battle goes badly for our heroes. Skids explains that a Morlock named Qwerty wrote a prophetic book concerning the fate of all mutants right before M-Day and a rift has developed in the underground dwellers as to the interpretation of the tome. She takes Storm and Caliban to meet Delphi and the pacifist Morlocks in an underground cathedral right before Masque blows it up and brings the house down. Xavier calls off his hunt for Magneto to come to Storm's aid.
Masque has captured Storm and her allies in the Morlock tunnels and is planning on blowing up a church full of humans to fulfill a prophecy he thinks he has found in a book written by a precog Morlock. Storm has other ideas, escapes and takes care of Masque and his plans. Xavier calls off his hunt for Magneto in the wake of these events. Val meets with Magneto and gives him Qwerty's book of mutant prophecy.
