Synopsis
Ted calls Jeff on his new phone, but for some reason reaches city morgue instead of Jeff. The call works on the next attempt, but when he goes to see Jeff, Jeff is hit by a car and killed. Ted realizes his phone can predict deaths, but when he calls Ellie and reaches city morgue he tries to alter destiny by saving her. Running to a carnival ground where Ellie is, Ted is killed when lightning strikes a merry-go-round, sending debris which strikes him down.

Synopsis
Bill and Jenny adopt a baby but it soon runs Jenny ragged. Bill finds his coffee poisoned and they both nearly die in a mysterious fire, yet the baby somehow got out of the house before the blaze erupted. After Jenny tripped on the baby's teddy and fell to her death, Bill suspected the baby was responsible. Taking Bill's gun, the baby confronts Bill and reveals its true nature: it's an alien in disguise, killing from safety thanks to its innocent appearance. The baby kills Bill and is later adopted by another couple.

swipe of Ray Bradbury's "The Small Assassin". In Alter-Ego v3 #9, Romita states that this is both the first Atlas job done under his name (earlier were ghosted pencils for Louis Zakarin) and his first ever professional inking.
