Synopsis
Ace is taking G.I. Joe to D.C. to see the current President of the U.S., and Ace asks him if this is his first time flying in a supersonic fighter, and Joe says the last time he flew to D.C. was in 1963. Ace then asks why he was flown from Vietnam to D.C. Joe then tells him that he can't respond because it's classified. The story then goes into Joe's origin and how he was recruited to be the first true G.I. Joe by then-president JFK and ends with them landing in D.C. as he asks Ace to give him a minute to recoup his bearings as they had just flown over Arlington National Cemetery.

Indexer Notes

The story itself gives more detail by Larry Hama himself as to how and why Colton became the first Joe as part of the toyline itself, since Larry was the one who created all of the Joes' filecards for the toyline itself besides writing the series for Marvel, and later Devils' Due via the 3-part miniseries G.I. Joe: Declassified, and currently continuing the series of G.I Joe: A Real American Hero over at IDW from where Marvel ended its run at #155.
