Popular purchased the Frank A. Munsey Company in 1942, gaining the rights to Argosy magazine.
Popular was sold to Brookside Publications in 1972.
Brookside sold Popular to Filipacchi Publications, part of Hachette, in 1978.
Hachette sold the rights to Popular and its characters to Blazing Publications in 1981.
Blazing Publications renamed the company Argosy Communications, Inc. in 1988.
Argosy Communications sold its rights to everything but its pulp heroes to Steeger Properties, LLC in 2014.
