Notes:
May have published only one title, The Treasure Chest of the World's Best Comic, for the Christmas market in probably 1950 but this now seems unlikely. Canadian newspaper history is not an easy topic to research online. However, a company called Herald Publishing appears to have existed in Toronto in 1914 and perhaps earlier. Another reference to "The Herald" makes it clear that it was one of two papers merged to form the Herald-Chronicle which, presumably, still exists. "The Herald" could be addressed sometime in about the 1940s at 2382 West Dundas St. Superior Publishing had the address 2382 Dundas St. West as did Herald Publishing Company in 1950/1951. It also seems likely that the same company published several "Herald" newspapers within a fairly short radius of Toronto. It is by no means certain but it seems likely that Superior was a subsidiary of Herald Publishing and not the other way around.
