- Synopsis
- Many years ago, Rogol Zaar warns members of the Circle of the threat that Krypton poses to the universe, and pleads for permission to wipe out all Kryptonians. Appa Ali Apsa later notifies Zaar that the Circle decided against such action. Meanwhile Superman is busy capturing Firefly and Killer Moth, investigating a suspicious building fire, and returning to the Planet as Clark to write up the stories. But he is haunted by a memory of Lois and Jon, whose whereabouts are unknown.

Rogol Zaar previously appeared in Action Comics #1000. This story takes place prior to the story in that issue.
Referred to as The Circle in this issue, in issue #2 they are referred to as the Galactic Circle. Gandelo is referred to as Lord Gandelo in issue #2, but later in Supergirl (DC, 2016 series) #29 is referred to as Empress Gandelo. Also in Supergirl #29, the unidentified 5th member of the Circle is revealed as the Thanagarian Defense Minister.

- Synopsis
- In the aftermath of Krypton's destruction, Appa Ali Apsa and Gandelo discuss Zaar's possible involvement. On Earth, Superman battles the Toyman and deals with another arson fire. Planet staffers Robinson Goode and Trish Q both want to find out what happened to Lois Lane. Clark has another flashback to a fateful moment with Lois and Jon. At an alien bar in the Vega System, Zaar learns about the existence of Superman, the last survivor of Krypton.

- Synopsis
- To reduce damage to Metropolis, Superman drags Rogol Zaar to the Moon, where the ensuing battle leaves Superman unconscious. Melody Moore looks for a pattern in the arson fires. When a new fire breaks out, Supergirl and the Justice League lend a hand. Supergirl finds Superman on the Moon and with the League brings him to the Hall of Justice to recover. In flashback, we see Jor-El offer to take Jon on a tour of the galaxy over the objections of Clark and Lois.
