Synopsis
Despite his mother's resistance, Aster insists on competing as a witch in the Midwinter Festival. The orphaned Ariel's aunt Isabel makes contact, urging her to spurn the Vanissen family that is training her. In a confrontation between Aster and Isabel, Isabel tries to steal Ariel's magic, provoking Ariel to return to the protection and training of the Vanissens. Aster is crowned as the Midwinter Witch, inspiring others who are not traditional, and Ariel accepts the love of her friends.
