Synopsis
Timid wallflower Emma Frost gets bullied at school, pushed around by a domineering father and is generally unhappy with her miserable (if privileged) life. Then, she starts getting terrible headaches and begins hearing voices in her head and has little inclination that her world is about to completely change.

Synopsis
Emma wakes up in the school infirmary after having a blinding headache which caused her to pass out. The other girls tease her about doing it on purpose to get out of taking a final. While taking the test the next day, Emma realizes she can "hear" the correct answers in her head. She aces the test and is accused of cheating as she is normally a B student. She is forced to take it again but has no extra help this time from the minds of other students. She aces it again but hears Ms. Cruikshank tell Ian that her father called and threatened to pull funding if she didn't get an A+.

Synopsis
Emma continues to get perfect grades in school thanks to her blossoming mind powers. She is also pleased to have her arch-rival disgraced and forced to leave the school due to lack of funds. Emma becomes deeply infatuated with Ian. She greatly displeases her father when she tells him that Ian has inspired her to become a teacher. Ian gives Emma a ride home during a storm and she impulsively kisses him. Emma shows up for school the next day to find that Ian has been fired. Her father gloats that he set the trap and photographed her smooching on her teacher.

Synopsis
Emma accidentally discovers that her brother is gay, a secret he has successfully kept from the family. On vacation in Peru, she also learns that her father is running around on her mother and takes pictures to prove it. Synopsis
Emma's mother makes excuses for her philandering husband until Emma touches her and psychically makes her see the truth. Unfortunately, this shock puts Hazel in the hospital. Christian moves out of the house to live with his boyfriend. Winston pays the police to plant drugs and arrest Dante. Emma believes sister Adrienne may have mental powers like her own. Synopsis
The Frost family is in an uproar as Emma has just saved Christian from hanging himself. Winston is upset that she called 911, thus making the situation public. Angry with her father for his indifference, Emma becomes even more furious when she discovers that Cordelia has been getting drugs for Christian. Emma decides to tell her father about the problem and is shocked when Winston praises her for her recent rebellions. Just as Emma is about to be handed the reigns to the Frost family fortune, she learns that her father is putting Christian in a mental institution and decides to leave home.

Synopsis
On her own for the first time in her life, Emma finds that paying her own way is difficult as she loses one job after another. She discovers that she can use her mind to make people see money and tries to pass a piece of newspaper off as a hundred dollar bill at a restaurant. She gets caught and ends up doing dishes, making an unlikely friend out of the regular dishwasher.
