Synopsis
Batman gasses Dick Grayson. Alfred patches up Vicki. Batman tosses Dick into the Batmobile, driving off. Dick recovers quickly, and they discuss the situation. Cops start chasing them and surround them, until Batman rockets over and onto them, laughing like a maniac all the while. The Batmobile then engages wings, and rockets off. Dick freaks out, and Batman slaps him, then they discuss more, including Batman wanting to train him to fight crime. Dick finally accepts all this.

Synopsis
"Black Canary" is a bartender in a bar with the same name. After enduring come-ons and one-liners she explodes after one patron feels up her rear end, and knocks out everyone in the whole bar. Her boss catches her robbing the unconscious patrons. She resigns, and then kicks him when he calls her a name she had been enduring all night. She steals a motorcycle and takes off. Batman and Dick are still in Batmobile and it becomes a submarine. Clark Kent sees on a milk carton that Dick is missing, reads in the Daily Planet the details, gets angry, burns the paper, and changes to Superman.

Synopsis
When Batman and Dick Grayson arrive at the Batcave, Alfred informs Batman that Vicki Vale lies dying in the hospital. Batman tells Alfred to arrange with Clark Kent to have Superman retrieve Dr. Ekhart from Paris to operate. Superman retrieves the doctor. Dick asks for some clothes, causing Batman to flash back to his parents' murders. Batman leaves Dick in the cave to fend for himself for sleep and food while he goes to work. When Dick later wakes up, he finds a bacon cheeseburger and fries, courtesy of Alfred. Batman confronts Alfred about it, but Alfred tells him he is not Batman's slave.

Synopsis
Wonder Woman meets with Superman, Green Lantern, and Plastic Man to discuss what to do with this new Bat-Man who has now kidnapped a child. Though she wants to take him out, Wonder Woman agrees to leave Batman alone for now. Meanwhile Batman enjoys patrolling Gotham City, brutally stopping a rape, and tells the victim not to call the corrupt cops nor an ambulance. Back at Wayne Manor, Alfred recalls Bruce's childhood and the Waynes' deaths, wondering if his master has gone mad. Dick explores the Batcave, and finds a cache of old-style weapons, including a battle ax.

Synopsis
While her father is on the phone, Barbara Gordon for the first time changes into Batgirl and swings out of the window. Jimmy Olsen, cub reporter for the Gotham Gazette, has been summoned to Vicki Vale's hospital room. He gives her information on the Flying Graysons and Bat-Man and Vicki decides to leave the hospital. After Black Canary roars across Batman's path, she confronts some men, knocks them out, and takes their money. Batman confronts Jocko-Boy Vanzetti, but hears automatic weapons fire and leaves. Black Canary is running from the gang of the men she robbed, but Batman intervenes.

Synopsis
Batman attacks the crooks pursuing the Black Canary. He discovers they were stealing bleach, and realizes that mixing it with Thermite that he has, he can make a bomb, which he uses to set them afire. Black Canary gets turned on by this, and pounces on Batman. After, Batman offers her a ride home, retrieves Jocko-Boy Vanzetti, and calls the Batmobile. Meanwhile, Dick is going stir-crazy in the Batcave. Batman brings him Jocko-Boy Vanzetti, Dick's parent's killer, and wants him to decide Jocko-Boy's fate. Dick assaults him until Jocko-Boy talks and they find out he was hired by the Joker.

Synopsis
The Joker seduces and strangles attorney Donna Gugina. Dick and Batman discuss the Joker, then Batman tells Dick to get a costume if he wants to help. Batman takes Jocko-boy back to Gotham and dumps him. Dick finds a bow and arrows, reminding him of Robin Hood, which generates the idea for a costume. Meanwhile, Batman finds Green Lantern on a rooftop and makes plans to talk later. Joker visits Catwoman, asking her to join him in some mischief. Batman returns to the Batcave, where he finds Dick dressed as "Hood." Batman shows him why a hood is not a good idea and renames him Robin.

Synopsis
Batman and Green Lantern meet but Batman had Robin paint everything yellow so Green Lantern's ring can't operate on any of it. Green Lantern accuses Batman of kidnapping Dick Grayson and making him into Robin. Batman notes that Grayson was just found the day before. Green Lantern starts to leave, but then is told his ring is missing and Robin has it. Green Lantern tries to retrieve it, but Robin crushes his windpipe. Batman performs an emergency tracheotomy and realizes he has rushed things with Robin. Batman decides to rectify that, takes him to a graveyard, and tells him to find his parents.
