Synopsis
A flashback shows how Brainiac stole Kandor from Krypton. At a staff meeting at the Daily Planet, Perry White welcomes Steve Lombard as new sports editor, and welcomes back Catherine Grant. A Brainiac probe enters Earth's atmosphere; Superman intercepts. It analyzes him, sends the information, and then shuts down. Brainiac's headship receives the information.

Synopsis
Superman takes the Brainiac probe to the fortress and analyzes it with Supergirl. They review some of the Brainiacs Superman has met, but Supergirl tells him they all were probes and that he's never met the real Brainiac. Superman then goes to tell his parents that he is going to track down Brainiac. He uses a ship to travel to Brainiac's current location, Larroo. After he arrives a city there is surrounded by a bottle and taken into Brainiac's ship. The ship then fires into the sun of Larroo, causing it to explode, and destroying the planet. Superman is taken unconscious into Brainiac's ship.

Synopsis
Supergirl visits the Daily Planet, looking for Clark, but making an enemy of Cat Grant in the meantime. Superman is still unconscious on Brainiac's ship, being probed. After awakening and destroying the Brainiac probes, he explores the ship, fighting Kono, finding various people in suspended animation, finding a room of bottled cities, and hearing Kryptonese. He tracks the latter to a particular city in a bottle: Kandor. The real Brainiac awakens, and they confront each other. Brainiac has traced Superman back to Earth, which he now plans to gather knowledge from.

Synopsis
Brainiac's probes arrive in Metropolis, met by Supergirl and Lois. On the ship, Superman and Brainiac continue fighting until Superman temporarily puts Brainiac out of commission. He then gets the Kandor bottle, which starts communicating with him. Supergirl's parents tell how they and Argo City survived the destruction of Krypton, but Brainiac tracked them down, destroying Argo City and forcing Zor-El and Alura to send Kara away to Earth. Meanwhile, Brainiac recovers and recaptures Superman and snares Supergirl. A bottle starts forming around Metropolis as Brainiac's ship fires into the sun.
