This UK Lesley Shane newspaper strip, produced from around 1952 to 1956, was printed in a number of Australian newspapers as Lesley Shane, Lesly Shane or Leslie Shane. The North Western Courier on Monday 30 March 1953 reported that "The strip is rated as probably the most popular in England. By arrangement with the proprietors of England's biggest newspaper chain, Kemsley Newspapers, this strip will not appear in any metropolitan newspaper, but is exclusive to country publications. The strip was also provided to some newspapers in the US by the Bell Syndicate.
