Synopsis
Duke gets imprisoned, is attacked in prison, and his life flashes before his eyes; Clyde runs for office against Lacey; Dick dies, taking a perfect picture of a Bachman’s Warbler as his last action; Havoc drops planeloads of money on Honduras contras; Mike sleeps in his office, but gets reunited with J.J.; Rick still has problems being a successful journalist, and at the same time being a father to Jeff; Boopsie for the first time acts as a medium for ancient warrior Hunk-Ra; Mike gets involved in a campaign for safe sex, creating Dr. Whoopee; Roland Hedley revisits Reagan’s brain.

Page 65-70 reprints daily strips presenting the Iran-Scam puzzle. The puzzle is shown almost solved on page 71; but this latter never was a daily (nor Sunday) strip.

Garry Trudeau was assisted by inker Don Carlton (Alter 1990, 66). Carlton’s association with Trudeau began in the early 1970s, and his responsibilities grew to include lettering of the strip. The association endured for decades (Walker 2010, 30–31).
