- Spirit medium Claire Voyant, momentarily influenced by Satan, curses a family after they doubt her skills. When the mother and daughter of the family die, the son blames Claire and kills her. Satan claims her soul and transforms her into the Black Widow. After giving her a tour of Hell, he allows her to go back to earth and avenge herself by killing her own murderer. Satan then tells the Black Widow that her role will be to collect the souls of evil men on earth at his direction.

The Cat and Spider-Man avert an attack on a power plant and are able to stop Man-Killer by telling her that her group is secretly sponsored by Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), a crime organization dominated by men.

Daredevil tangles with the evil organization once again and discovers that all of their soldiers are women with strange tattoos. The Widow is brainwashed into working for Black Spectre. DD discovers that the Spectre's leader is Mandrill and is told an origin story of violence and intolerance of a white boy who was black (Mandrill) and a black girl who was white (Nekra).

DD breaks Widow's conditioning and Shanna joins them in invading the Oval Office and taking Mandrill down for good.

The helicarrier goes down in the mayhem and in keeping the whole thing from blowing sky high, She-Hulk is exposed to a heavy dose of radiation that prevents her from changing into her alter-ego Jennifer Walters ever again.
