Synopsis
After being disqualified in a race held behind the Iron Curtain, American racer Joe Durkin is warned by the winning driver, Jan Koleciv, that false charges are being filed against him, and that he and Bess need to leave the country immediately. The two head for the border, evading a roadblock, only to discover that Jan Koleciv and his young son have hidden in the trunk. The four are determined to escape, and Durkin outstrips pursuit in his "fuel-injected 427 cubes" Stingray by jumping a lift-bridge to freedom.

Synopsis
Two years after the events in Part One, Clint is set upon by Jet Black. After knocking Clint to the ground, Jet has a change of heart, saying he is no killer. He tells Clint to turn him in, but instead Clint offers him a job. He begins to train with Clint and his crew, over the objections of Clint's racing sponsor and learns to be a good race driver. Weeks later, Clint is midway through a Can-Am race when he spins out and dislocates a shoulder. Jet takes over and comes in second in the race.
