- Synopsis:
- Violinist John Wallace is stabbed with a violin bow while trying to protect an old violin maker, who possesses the secret of the varnish formula, which allows him to make replicas of Stradivari's great violins. Wallace is revived by the violin maker with the "Pipes of Peace", that are death to evildoers in Wallace's hands. When the violin maker is killed for his troubles, Wallace vows revenge and becomes the Music Master!

Continued next issue. Writer and art credits per Blake Bell and added by Craig Delich 2012-3-15. The splash page states "Created by Stephen A. Douglas", who was an editor at Eastern Color. However, since Everett created at least the visuals for this first appearance, he should be considered at least a co-creator. The Who's Who verifies that Douglas wrote this strip for its entire run, therefore his name is added to the writer credits by Craig Delich 2013-2-13.
